Incident Scanner (mobile app)
IncidentScanner is a flexible mobile app for collecting and classifying data, in the field and elsewhere. Its key features:
Versatility
– it can be used to classify not only photo documentation but also images and drawings
– a data package (with a uniform XML output) can be sent by e-mail, to a system for handling general requests (the free OTRS) or to other systems via API (DMS, CRM)
Extreme flexibility with data-driven forms
– change requests to forms and actions can be implemented very quickly (the changes you need will cost considerably less)
Several types of metadata for classification in forms
– we use several types of metadata, e.g. image data, drawings, single choice from several items, choice from a tree structure, short and long text; GPS coordinates and timestamps go without saying
– a marker can be added to (bitmap) drawings to pinpoint the location
Optimisation
– all image data, i.e. photos, pictures or drawings, can be automatically reduced to the required size before sending to save mobile data
Offline mode
– if dynamic data cannot be loaded directly from the application servers (as XML), cached classification data is used
Security
– the app can connect to data sources over HTTPS and use simple authentication (HTTP Basic Auth) to access the data
– user authentication and authorisation follow the OTRS system and its roles
– access for anonymous users can be disabled
Support for all newer mobile platforms (iOS 7+, Android 4.1+, MS)
– the same user interface on all platforms
